ELECROPHYSIOLOGICAL TECHNOLOGY (EPT) AND HYPERSPECTRAL IMAGING (HSI) FOR POTATO SPROUTING EARLY PREDICTION after the dormant stage/stage before the sprout emergence to reduce quality deterioration (shrinkage, weight loss, decrease in turgidity).
To reduce anti-germinative treatments, 2 techniques will be piloted. The former, using electrodes stuck in the tubers´ vegetal tissues and connected to monitoring boxes to detect physiological modifications of plant activity, analyses data with AI. The latter combines spectral and spatial information, accessing numerous composition and/or discrimination criteria, and can analyze large quantities of product. Comparisons between the 2 will be made to shape solution.

The start-up Vivent Biosignals has been involved by Arvalis to collaborate in the Elecrophysiological Technology (HIS) / Hyperspectral Imaging (EPT) pilot for early potatoe sprout detection.
